BARBARA

When I was a young cop, I worked in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. The Tenderloin was, for the most part, an awful place to live, but for a cop hoping to learn, it was a good place to be.

LIGHT AND DARK

BOXMAN

When I worked at Central Station which covered San Francisco's Northbeach, Chinatown, Financial District and Tenderloin, I spent a good deal of time working plainclothes on an evening shift that ran from 7:00 P.M. until 3:00 A.M. It was a great assignment in that you weren't having to respond to all of the pain in the butt calls that tire cops out.
